THE FRICTION

A guest biography is in email, a recording link is in chat, and the editor has an older brief. The episode can be technically finished while its credits or guest details are still missing.

THE PRODUCT WE’RE EXPLORING

EpisodeLane, in three parts.

EpisodeLane would keep a small readiness checklist for each episode, with named owners and links to the approved assets. It would support your existing recording and hosting tools.

Three planned capabilities we want to validate with early users.

01 / PLANNED

Guest details in one place

Planned guest records would bring the approved biography, pronunciation notes, and asset links into the episode brief.

02 / PLANNED

Readiness before handoff

A proposed checklist would show what the editor or publisher is still waiting for, including artwork and credits.

03 / PLANNED

A visible next owner

Planned handoff notes would record who should act next and which version of the brief they received.

AN INTENDED WORKFLOW

A clearer next step.
Less work around it.

A focused approach for independent interview podcasts with a producer, host, and freelance editor.

  1. 01

    Prepare an episode brief

In a future pilot, create a brief and collect guest details with permission.

  2. 02

    Check the handoff

Confirm the recording, credits, and agreed assets before passing work to the next contributor.

  3. 03

    Record release readiness

Review the final checklist and export the brief into your existing publishing process.

GOOD TO KNOW

A few useful answers.

Can I manage an episode now?

No. EpisodeLane is a research waitlist. Guest records, production boards, reminders, and exports are planned.

Will it record, edit, or host audio?

Those services are outside the proposed first version. We are exploring coordination around tools your team already uses.

Does it provide guest releases?

No legal document or consent service is offered. Your team remains responsible for permission and the release terms it needs.
